Not a Gold Rush - The Taleist Self-Publishing SurveyNot a Gold Rush – The Taleist Self-Publishing Survey by Dave Cornford

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As one of the 1,007 respondents in this survey, I received a free copy in my email inbox last week. I read it over the course of the last few days. I could have read the entire thing in one sitting; but the information was simply too dense, sometimes with several statistics packed close together (and even more in asides like this). Many sentences felt so important that I read them twice, or thrice.

Not a Gold Rush contains a lot of really interesting data that gives a good perspective on the state of the indie publishing scene. It certainly is not a gold rush, except for the few Top Earners who also earned their own chapter in this report. This ebook draws some fascinating comparisons between what those Top Earners are doing that the rest of us apparently are not.

People who are thinking of independently publishing a book should read this, to see what they are in for, and to learn what they can from others in the industry. People who are currently publishing but aren’t in the Top Earners club should read this to get some ideas and inspiration, a little twitch of hope, and a lot of perspective. To say this report is sobering underscores how good the information and statistics contained within this text are.
