Review: SuperFreakonomics: Global Cooling, Patriotic Prostitutes And Why Suicide Bombers Should Buy Life Insurance
SuperFreakonomics: Global Cooling, Patriotic Prostitutes And Why Suicide Bombers Should Buy Life Insurance by Steven D. Levitt
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
SuperFreakonomics was a fitting follow-up to Freakonomics. There are more fascinating stories of research data and more wild conclusions. However, there were many sections that I thought were less interesting, but that may have just been me. None of those sections were long enough to make me skip any chapters. But they were long enough to make me lower my rating.
Overall, I felt it wasn’t as good as the first book, and was prepared to give it a three-star review. But the final section had a story of a monkey-related research project that was so hilarious that it single-handedly bumped my review up another star. I haven’t laughed that hard while reading a non-fiction book in a very long time.
